Description
CMC is short for Carboxymethyl cellulose.
It is a cellulose derivative with carboxymethyl groups(-CH2-COOH) bound to some of the hydroxyl groups ofthe glucopyranose monomers that make up thecellulose backbone. It is often used as its sodium salt, sodiumcarboxymethyl cellulose. It used to be marketed under the name Tylose, aregistered trademark of SE Tylose. This product is widely used in Food, OilDrilling, Painting, Paper Making. With the character of emulsifying and gelprotection, CMC will produce the anion during washing and it makes the washedsurface and the dirt granule be negatively charged, and CMC enables the fabricafter washing to be soft and reduce skin irritation.
